I understand that as a Spanish-speaking research assistant for Project SEED, I will have to complete tasks involving one of the following with availability on weekdays 5-8 pm and/or Saturdays and Sundays: home visits, phone call recruitment, and phone interviews.

We have two types of English speaking research assistant positions for Project SEED.

Position 1 (Office) Includes working in the laboratory preparing materials for home visits, data management, data analysis, transcriptions, and computer work (using programs such as Microsoft word, excel, or database programs).

No Spanish knowledge needed for this Position 1.

Position 2 (Field) Includes primarily working in the field. This fieldwork will allow you to interview families in their homes where you will get to interact with parents and child participants. This requires weekday nights and weekend availability. Through this position you will also be asked to make phone calls during weekday evenings and weekend nights. This position requires a vehicle to drive around Austin and a valid medical insurance.

Even if you are not fluent in speaking and writing in Spanish, you MUST have a good comprehension and understanding of Spanish to apply for this Position 2.

As part of ULN (University Leadership Network), I understand that I am required to sign up for a class to receive course credit.

I understand that I am required to finish 125 hrs for each semester I participate as a ULN student. This is equivalent to 9 hrs a week in a 14 week semester.

I understand that as an applicant for the RA position, I have the option to register and sign up for a class (3 UT credit hours, complete 125 hours total or 6 credit hours, complete 250 hours total) in one semester. This is equivalent to 9 hrs a week in a 14 week semester (3 credits) or 18 hrs a week in a 14 week semester (6 credits).
